Severely Modded Blaster Beats 400EX and Raptor
#1
Believe It, I know I wouldn't if I read this post. Last weekend I raced a stock 400EX and a stock Raptor and to my own disbelief. I won I had the 400 by about 2 bikes. The guy on the raptor quit after about 3 gear. Both of the guys were new to 4 wheeling I guess. I started in Second and Powershifted to about 5th. We did about 100 yard drag on uneven dirt. I guess I am saying this to say ANYTHING is possible with a little modification. Having said this I still think both the Raptor and 400 are superior but, a hopped up 2 stroke could beat them in a drag.
Here are my mods.

100yd drag, thats totally possible, blasters may not go that fast but they GET there just about as fast as any other, if you deny it then you've never ridden one.. in a 100yd race that isnt very much distance, probally just enough to get it WOT 6th gear before the finish line.. Of corse if it was a 200yd race or something and you actually get to open the raptor/400 WOT then of course you'd smoke a blaster.. you can only accelerate so fast though...

the 400EX i can believe. especially if your top speed is 70. it doesn't take to big of a 2 stroke to beat one. i know i can smoke a 400 no prob. the raptor...uhhhhhh its possible i guess but not with your mods. the guy musta just sucked. for those who say a blaster doesn't have a chance you are all wrong. just cuz their small doesn't mean their not quick. lets not forget the a 200cc 2 stroke in a frame that would be prefect for a 150cc 4 stroke. very quick for what they are.

As I stated, the guy on the raptor laid off after about 3rd gear. I would really hate to think that my hop up little blaster could beat a raptor outright. I've had ridden them all and a raptor and they really begin to haul after about third gear which is when I would say he just stopped at the time he stopped he was behind as was the 400EX. As I stated the blaster I was on is FAR FROM STOCK. You would be shocked at what some extensive motorwork, carb and pipe could do.

I noticed that you said you have a CT 240 kit. You should beat a 400EX with no problem. If not I would suggest you get your ports cleaned up and head worked on by someone like Victory Motorsports, Hetrick Racing or MacDizzy. My bike is just ported and revs out a lot more than a 240 and is just as quick if not faster. Referring to the nationals Hetrick's ported bikes are beating 240's. My posts did not say I beat a banshee and I did explain that the guy on the raptor backed off for what who knows? I would like to race a banshee and see how I would compare. Against a stock one I have a chance but modded I am sure I would lose a banshee and all of the other bikes mentioned but, again my bike is not stock. Give one of the engine builders I recommended a call. Your 240 will be a lot quicker. CT and Trinity are good for the big bores but their port work leaves some to be desired.
