JHAM, you must be racing 250 and 300 Xplorers, because my 400 will take most any 4-stroke sport-utility under 650cc's... and maybe even a few above it, though I've never raced one...
87r, Honda seems to have a problem with political correctness... and the fact that it's all they want to be! No more 2-strokes in their line-up at all. Countless underpowered, yet reliable ATVs. Firm believers that advertising is everything, even if they're not advertising their product ("Wear A Helmet" ads, "Tread Lightly" ads, etc.). They seem to be afraid to be radical, afraid to be overpowered, and afraid to be dangerous.
They are the model ATV manufacturer, as far as the government is concerned... and the gov't loves them for it.

A couple years ago, this goes to Polaris easily. Right now, Yamaha has it easily. Not because of the 02 Grizz either. Since 99, we've seen redesigns to both Big Bear and Kodiak. A new sport in the raptor. Now the Grizz. A new kids quad is supposed to come out also I think. Before they re-did the kodiak and big bear, they managed to put front discs on them the last year, and they also upped the suspension a little.
Bombardier has made a lot of models, but they are basically versions of the same thing. Polaris continues to change things, and appeal to a lot of riders also, and they are easily second. Watch out for suzuki though if they get back into the sport market. Its about time the KQ got a redesign as well.
