wow I've never heard of that!! <--yes I got the right imoticon
I am currently building a liquid-cooled powervalve blaster using parts from YAMAHA!! It would be a simple top end swap and some electrical work. They do exist but are very hard to come by. The motor puts out 30hp with almost twice the torque of a blaster. it also has an overdrive tranny that has a higher gearing than a blaster. It would be able to pull it no prob since it makes more power. As for the price. All the parts brand new are almost $1500, $1000 if you run it with the powervalve locked open. Used can be anywhere from $400-$700. I'll keep this topic updated when I get all of the parts. I will not answer any questions that would reveal the model of the bike since it is harder to find used parts than you might think. If you already know what bike it is, please don't say anything until after I do. I think most people will understand.

dirt/burkey who ever you are, dude you are a space case, you say "I will not answer any questions that would reveal the model of the bike " yet your signature has a link to it "THE MOTOR WAS USED IN THE 1984 DT200R".... helloooo???

Yeah, that hit me right after I posted that...oops I'm not burkey from blaster central, in fact I think that guy is a little bit af an a$$hole. I found ALL the parts I need for $310 up in canada. Its not the same as "burkeys" since he is going to just swap the motors, not the top end.
I might as well say something since those "hard to find parts" have been found and secured.
The bike is a canada and new zealand/australia model called the dt200(184 in canada and the dt200l/c (1984-1987) in new zealand and australia. The engine is a 37-f model and yamaha still uses it in the dt200r in south america, which is still in production. It is a liquid-cooled, powervalved 195 cc motor. It makes roughly 30 hp with almost twice the torque of a blaster. The tranny makes it 11% faster than the blaster and is also a swap-able item. To do the complete top end conversion(what I'm doing)you need the following parts:
cylinder
cylinder head
clutch cover w/water pump
ALL electrics including the rotor and wiring harness
Radiator from a bike that will fit(the dt200's is too tall)
1992 wr200 head gasket that is thinner than the dt's which will slightly raise comp.
Plus all the nuts/bolts/studs/fasteners that hold everything together.
Brand new the parts from Yamaha New Zealand would cost about $1500 (if you get them from burkey, probly less if you find them for yourself). $1100 if you run it with the powervalve locked open which means you wouldn't need to do any electrical work.
Either way it would most likely be cheaper if you get the parts from this "dt200" than the CT parts.
Anyway...ooops, I forgot completely about that link, even though its right there on the first page in red. I will have all the steps and parts listed on that page on my site. I don't have the parts yet, just a deal worked out so nothing for about a week or two.

Sorry, from your site/Lq.project I assumed you were burk. Thats cool, personally I think burkey is never going to get that thing running, mabe you'll have better luck, definetly post the results, it would be VERY cool if you completed it before burkey lol!

No prob. Burkey has his own site dedicated to his ego. His site doesn't have enough space so he can't update it. Besides I'm from the small town of Eighty Four, PA and he is from Fullerton, CA.
If you noticed on my site I am currently rebuilding my blaster from the frame up. I will have those parts by the end on july, but I won't be done with the rest of it for another 2-3 weeks since that $310 is all I have right now. I still need rear rims/tires, front rims, front brake cables for my hydro setup, exhaust, reed cage, hood, tank shroud, seat cover, handlebars, rear brake pads, shorty rear brake cable, and whole mess of nuts and bolts. That means I'll have to wait 'till I get another $300-400. I won't be using the new cylinder setup until I blow my current top end but I will be polishing the whole thing to a mirror finish and posting all pictures on my site. This topic will be updated as I get this project slowly finished.

I was thinking mild port job, polishing the OUTSIDE of the cylinder/head so when you look at the engine you can see yourself. After all the parts are in my possesion I will tell ANYONE ANYTHING. Those are the hardest parts from that bike to find. You can get almsot anything else from salvage yards. Kiwi_craig has some great info on His Site. He's on this site too but he doesn't visit alot.
