I am interested in your idea. To me this also sounds like a project that would work. I been thinking a lot about building my own off of a reg. enclosed V nose trailer. There are to many people out there with mini trucks that want these things and can not afford new trucks and 20K for a trailer. Please drop me a message if you don't mind with a little more information. Thanks!
What all would all of you build or put on it if you were building it ??

If you can find a toy hauler under 2,500 lbs, and you haul 2 sport quads, that's 3,500 lbs, plus stuff, that's 4,000 lbs. That's a lot to tow for a mini-pickup. Toy Haulers that hold 3 full-size quads are well over 3,500 lbs. plus quads & stuff and you are up to 6,000
before you know it. That will kill the auto tranny in most half-tons pretty quick, especially the GM 700 with overdrive. There are some small Toy Haulers, and some are heavier than they look, and some won't hold two full size quads. Carsons start cheap with no options, by the time you add the stuff you need they cost almost as much as the rest of them. But at least you're not buying stuff you don't need. LOL A truly lightweight Toy Hauler under 2200 lbs. that can haul two quads and be easily hauled by a half-ton Pickup would be great for the sport. (we looked at a Tahoe with a neat tip out front bed, it was cheap and light, but would not hold two quads)

About the towing thing, all Ican say is that a small pickup is limited. When we go riding and are 3, we load everything in the Ranger (V6 4.0L)...that is the shee in the bed + a 2 quad trailer (with Raptor and Scrambler). I wouldn't go much more loaded than that, because I almost fall short on power (and brakes!) with this 2000- lbs setup.
Hard to say...but big trucks are the answer...or not going far.

How would A chevrolet 3500 work for pulling the quads?
From Florida to California (Glamis)?
The chevy Silverado 3500 can pull up to 15,700 lbs.

Three of the guys we ride with have enclosed trailers. Two of them are 24` and the other is 20`. The trailers are sweet. We want to get a 32` enclosed trailer sometime. Chevy 2500HD pulling it.

Here is a heavyweight rig. 36 foot triple axle, 18,000#gvw, 7500# curb weight, truck-curb weight 7400#. Hold up to eight 4 wheelers or a ton or two of other needs. Living quarters are in the plan.
