I've heard a lot of talk on this forum about the speed sensor on the Grizzly and how to disconnect it. What exactly does this speed sensor do? It seems that most people were disconnecting this when they added the big tires. I have 27" Vampires all the way around and haven't noticed any problems with the way the engine runs. I experienced some loss of power, but that is just part of adding the big heavy tires. I also realize that when you increase tire diameter, the speedo is going to think you are going slower than you really are. So what does this speed sensor control? Does it have anything to do with the belt/gear ratios, etc? Is is similar to a rev-limiter? What does disconnecting it do for you. Thanks for your help!

I don't know exactly what the speed sensor does but after adding the taller tires my bike would surge when the transmission would change through the variables. After disconnecting the speed sensor it stopped the surging and made my bike faster through the gears. I out run another grizzly with smaller tires that used to out run me.
