Tell me what kind of Quads you went up against with your Kodiak. How did it compare and any races that you had, how did you do?---Kyle Kimball--- Southeast, Texas-----

I was recently invited for a weekend of riding with some old friends I hadn't seen for a couple of years. They are a close knit buch and all seven of them had bought Suzuki 500cc quads. Quadrunners, I believe. I unloaded my 2000 Kodiak, they all immediately commented how nice it seemed and looked. They all rode it and fell in love with the auto tranny and handling. Three of them agreed it was time to race. I was hoping I would beat them but ran my mouth off anyway. So there me and three Suzuki 500s sat, on the street with a flagger about 200 yards down the road. He dropped, we hit it. For the first 30 or so yards, they each had me by a nose. For the rest of the race though, I pulled away and kept pulling away. Three times in a row this happened. They all kicked theirselves in the *** the rest of the weekend.

I recently purchased a new Honda Rancher, but before doing so i wanted to test out a new Kodiak 4x4,i read about how it beat the Honda Forman in a shootout. It was not initally quick at take off but after about fifty feet the power really came on strong.I took it up a steep hill in 2wd and it did not go up as easily as the Rancher 2x4 did or was as stable as the Rancher was.I also did not like how the belt drive vibrated and how it seemed top heavy compared to the Rancher.I did think it was a nice looking machine though.

It could use more power.

Otherwise, its close to perfect
Turning Radius is very tight, Steering is very easy(2wd or 4wd), Steering Precision
spot on, Suspension works.

Balance and Feel, top notch.
Fit and Finish, Perfect.

Why did Yamaha fail to use the Rest of the
YZF/WR block(the 5-Valve Head and the Jug)?

Even detuned it would still make more Power
than any other 4X4.

Great Day
