Piston slapp, did you insure you gave the rings and piston to the one who bored it.
Thiers a type of boring done for type of piston, then the rings are fitted and trimmed if need so.

The machine shop I delt with on the original seize supplied the piston, rings, pin, bearing, and gaskets. They've been in business for about 20 years now but it's still possible they screwed up and didn't machine it right.

Things happen, but were on a forum, you can see it we can't, all is just speculation now.
Seal the pipe up and good luck

Thanks all for the input on this. I was able to take it to a machine shop and they took a straight edge to the bottom of the cylinder and found out that it was warped just a little. It looked like it was enough for the gasket not to seat on the sides. I thought I'd share the info for any and all that mine run across a situation like this. Again, thanks for the direction here.

thats one of the reasons alot of people tell you to do a leak down test. im guilty of doing a top end without a leakdown test, but it isnt a wise decision.
