A group of us from Minnesota will be heading to Little Sahara, Oklahoma on Wednesday (the 20th) night. We should get there the morning of the 21st. Anyone else gonna make it for that weekend? Maybe a little JUMP CONTEST?!? The last time I was down there, I would have won a jump contest, but my last jump didn't count. 91 feet from the top of the dune. Too bad I fell off and sprained my wrist! But this time, I'm riding with a few people who are crazier than I am!

Whats everyone think? Who wants a JUMP CONTEST!!!

Was that guy on the 250r ok? That was a hell of a jump.....and it looks like he landed kind of sideways....it hurts just looking at that picture!

I will be going on rattlesnake weekend for sure....and if we get everything ready in time we might be going easter weekend. This is my first time to the dunes so I am pretty excited....but I am also worried because I have heard of all of the horror stories of people almost getting hit with sand rails and other people that are just not paying attention.

Does anyone have some good stories they would like to share....or some suggestions for the rookie?

 

I have a little advise. When you're riding and decide to take a little break or chat with some buddies, don't do it in the bottom of the dunes. Ride up to the lip or a flat and hang out so that you can see the buggies coming. Sometimes those guys will just blindly jump into a dune with no regard of who's in the bottom or on the other side. I've seen it! Just be careful of that and you should be just fine. Most of the other quad riders are pretty cool and will not put you in danger. They're probably watching out as well.

Slobanshee - the fella on the 250r was ok. the fella on the yellow 400ex was ok also. now if you look at the blue dirt bike that is way out there in the air (captioned as picture 136) he was hurt pretty bad when he landed . i felt the sand shake. he flew 123 feet before he landed. the rule was you had to have a successful landing. he did not or he would have won easly. around 90 something is what won in the bikes . the quads it was like 80 something feet BTW , the white 250r rode by the guy wearing the green shirt won it in the quads class. i heard he was from kansas.

 

WOW....I didn't get that far into your album....that guy on the motorcycle is flying! What happened to him....was he able to get up or did they have to haul him to the hospital?

How about picture 96!!! That was a hell of a jump for an odessey....it looked like he flew further than the quads! He must have one good motor in that thing....I always thought they were pretty slow.

I was noticing in photo 139...that black banshee is owned by Garrett Thompson, he lives a mile away from me (G.T. Performance) He is going to have a turbo-banshee....I have yet to see him run it wide open....but it should make things interesting this year!
