I would like to learn more about fuel additives, not for competition but for sand dune fun. Where do I get such info?

720,
I read in an earlier thread you explained a bit about what can be used as fuel additives. (Can't find it now) Could you run through what can be used and what is a safe'ish mix etc, for a 686 12.5 JE piston setup. I am most interested for dirt speedway use (6-7 mins WOT). With my old Powroll 660 mid range setup, I could hold off most Banshee's, but there are a few quick ones, 403 duncan prepped & a RG500 powered + a 330R. On short tracks I'm ok but on the longer circuits I got pipped at the end of the straights.

I learned about fuel additives so that I could better identify cheaters on the youth (pee wee) tracks. I have a very extensive list of additives, their sources, health effects, how they are used and what they improve. My suggestion is that you stay away from the stuff. If your machine is not fast enough build it bigger.

TURBO33,
have a read of this site:
www.foxvalleykart.com/html/fuel4.html
Has a bit on Propylene, MEK, Acetone, Nitroparaffins, Ethers, Diethylene and why not to use them.
Also mentions some new fuel additives MTBE, ETBE & TAME.

Gee RaptorNZ, do you really think people need to know about sites like that? Sure they appear to be there to tell you why the stuff is bad but anyone with 1/2 a brain can use the same data to play with the stuff.

incomplete combustion of and the fumes from MTBE, ETBE, MEK, Dioxame, anything containing toluene,(not sure about the others), are known to be carcinogenic (cancer causing) generally bad news not only for people in the area but the person mixing the fuels and the rider. better off building the motor like 720 says. i think they are also found in pall mall cigarettes ;-)
dont worry the 800 kit will be here soon enough

Well I did use half to find it and I'll use the other half to make a more informed decision to stay with VP C-12.
