Pam,

Speaking for myself, there are no fights here; however, you came here with the guns a blazing.

I simply reported the facts as I found them. Your response was to try making it appear as if we are all a bunch of junkies or ??? I posted my concerns about piston speeds -- you replied with your own version of safe piston speeds. I don't have a problem with that EXCEPT you made it appear as if I was dead wrong and your 45 years in the business validated your computations.

Other people here have simply posted their findings in the absence of a response from you.

When you say that there are a few people looking for honest answers, that is nice. Why don't you provide some. No fight -- just the facts. If you found a way to make major reliable power with the Raptor everyone wants to know. If it is BS, I believe that you have an obligation to correct the article. What is the word on piston speed issues, head work, reliability, cost, burned pistons, etc? Is it reasonable for you to require everyone to call you direct for the answers to these simple questions?

Boy, I thought us DS owners were funny but this whole thing is alot more entertaining!

Probably because there isn't as much competition for our money. Now if I could ever get my engine back. Hey, maybe competition IS good!

Scoody did not show up to race saturday or sunday, on that big bad DS650. The raptors took the crown again. The DS's in attendance did there best, but fell short.

I am glad i went with TRINITY for my work!

<< In the search for truth and visibility amongst suppliers it is becoming quite apparent to me who the business people are and who the back-woods tuners are. If I want to race Stadium events or Pro GNCC I am sure I would never ask anyone to show visibility in regards to the services they are providing for me.

However, 90% of the customers of these so-called "back-woods" performance/tuner shops are recreational riders wanting to go fast. If people like Pam from Powroll, Mickey "OneLap" Dunlap from FST and the guys over at Sparks want to maintain absolutely silent on the services, support, tuning tips and product description that is a SERIOUS business mistake.

The purpose here is for the tuners to share information, so the buying public can become educated in their approach to buying and maintaining performance products and services.

These people and I use that term loosely, have ZERO concept of the power of the NET to create business. I am saddened by the responses from official representatives of Powroll, FST and Sparks. These are the responses that are driving customers towards Trinity Racing in Anaheim, California. The days of people just sending off thousands of their hard earned dollars to some shop that does NOT provide answers to simple and honest questions from consumers who want to buy products and services is short-lived.

Welcome to the 21st Century Powroll, FST and Sparks. Is your collective pride to large to come on here an help answer a few questions to better educate the masses, or is there something to hide, and therefore by answering questions the "proverbial" cover would be pulled off the magic work being done?

Either way, there is still time for you to help us to help you!!!

I have to agree with you on this one! I would love to see technical support from Curtis himself on here, Technical support from Pete (not Pam) at Powroll on here, and last but not least Micky Dunlap! Theres alot we could learn from these individuals and wether you'd like to admitt it or not, if we only knew half of what these guys have forgotten we would be second best! This is all my opinion and if you don't like it, hug my nuts!!

P.S. It would be a perfect world if all the other engine builders were as hands on as Harry McDermot at Trinity Racing.

King, you are right. Limiting this discussion to the Raptor consider this.... The shops are scared because they know the people reading this post (3000+ views) are fanatics. We are consumed by the sport and obsessed with our toys. 3000+ people surfing the net for info rather than working!! I had a dream last night of roooooosting sand in everyone's face as I pulled 20 bike lengths over you King, Raptor720, Sandpig, 14mins, etc..at Olds on MY modified 4 stroke toy. lol. My buddies have the same sickness. lol.

Word travels fast and the net makes it faster. Shops want our business but they are used to being the only game in town. Hello, I can UPS my parts anywhere!! The days of a Dirt Wheels article boosting sales is over. Now it generates a trip to the ol keyboard to double and triple check. Remember the Raptor pipe shoot-out? CT cashed-in initially but companies like HMF have profited after the article because of the chit chat on the net. And HMF wasn't even in the shootout. Only time will tell.

Us sophomores are not just going to say "OK" here is my $2K for your engine mods. We are going to over analyze it into the ground. This industry is filled with clowns selling junk that doesn't fit, is made poorly, or they take your money and then it is a battle to actually get them to perform as promised. We want this sport/passion taken to a higher level. And when it comes to tearing apart our engine...we want the shop with NASSA techs blowing our minds with grinds, rates, measurements, and numbers.

Shops fly in and out of here to spout off their knowledge and pimp some business. And when it gets hot....they run scared. They tell themselves that we are a small group of nobody's. Go to your favorite dunes over memorial day weekend and count the orange ribbons on whips. Joe Worm with a pipe and filter who rides 3 times a year is not the engine builders customer. Joe Fanatic who hits Glamis every other weekend in the winter and every track during the summer is. Follow the money and the money is here looking for knowledge, customer service, facts, and numbers. Every time I go to Glamis I see hundreds and hundreds of rigs consisting of a $50K truck, $25K toy hauler, multiple quads, bla bla bla..... sensible people who put that much cash into their sport/hobby want the best. More power is the quest and only the best will do for some people. (and there are many)

More power keeps you out in front of Joe Worm who doesn't have the same passion or commitment. The Joe Fanatics share ideas and never stop looking for that additional 1/2hp. Joe Worms are happy with stock... Remember, eagles soar...pigeons flock!!!! Later.

If the big shops can not stand the net and this site.... Why are they reading this stuff.

There are at least a dozen people in my riding group. We already have 3 trinity owners, and more to follow. That should say something. I can recommend Trinity to my friends and know that they will be happy.

I want to race a fast yellow school bus.

Readers of ATV Connection, I know some of you are looking for the truth, aren't you? Why else would you actually read through all this?

So, what's the truth?

Don't believe everything you see on sites like this. Truth is, what you see here are a couple of folks shouting louder than everyone else. That doesn't mean that what they are saying is truthful, only that they've scared off any good, solid discussion on this topic.

One of the loudest voices you see here is the LAWYER for the company he is touting. I'm certain his view is completely unbiased.

Want the truth?
Call the companies in question, talk to them, go with the product that fits your needs the best. I'm not saying Powroll's the best, I am saying that we build a great product, and we're willing to back it up with excellent customer service.

However, we're not the only company out there who offers great service and good products. Call Curtis, call Dunlap, call Trinity. Talk to everyone, do your homework, but don't take what you see here for face value.

Powroll, and myself, did NOTHING wrong, yet I'm being branded the bad guy here.

Why? Because I won't get caught up in this shouting match?

Do you think Powroll doesn't care about online customers? The only reason I'm still here taking this beating is because I know there are many quiet ATV'ers out there who are reading this discussion.

They don't want to get beaten up by posting an unpopular opinion, but I think they're out there. They know Powroll's a good company, and they understand that sometimes, what you read online is not only untrue, it's meanspirited and downright wrong.

Pam;
Who's attacking you? I have not seen one person on here say that powroll produces crap! People just want replies to their questions and want to voice their opinions right or wrong. When I said that I didn't care for the 770 nos machine in dirt wheels mag it wasn't a slam on powroll, It just wasn't a machine that suited my riding style via my conversation with Pete. I think you need to stop taking everything so personal and take the good with the bad.

Thanks Vegas,

A large part of the delay included me getting stuck with a $1000 parts bill when you told me you couldn't afford the repair, after telling me to start on it. When you did finally give me the go ahead[weeks later], I told you that your motor would be ready for Memorial Day Weekend, and it is, but your still posting comments like this, and hanging up on me[Saturday] when your motor isn't done a week ahead of when I originally told you. Yes, I told you that I was hoping to have it done Friday, a full week ahead of time, but I do have other customers as well. I'm sorry that your disapointed with my service, but you are one customer that really shouldn't be. Your repair was done perfectly, and ahead of the projected time. I'm sorry to hear that I won't be getting any referals from you, but I know that you were given good service.
