Mickey- why don't you chime back in, and elaborate on your claims. I would be surprised if you have done more than 10, 686 kits.

Here's my take on the whole sparks vs trinity thing.

1. If it wasn't for curtis sparks and trinity racing our machine would'nt be the animals they are today.

2. If It wasn't for guys like Lyle (teamsparks) and Jon (raptor720) we would'nt know some of the $hit we know today!

3. We should all just be happy that we got guys like Curtis and Harry keeping our machines ("Raptors&quot ahead of the competition!

Velocityraptor- Your last reply was on the money.

My deal is Mickeydunlop talking trash and dissapearing on us. That is a heck of a way to drum up business.

Let me make one thing clear. I do not want to make this a Trinity vs Sparks event. Anyone who has talked with me on the phone or in person knows that I do not and will not bash the "other guy." The policy at Trinity Racing is not to talk bad about other shops. I will close my doors before I put down the work of some other shop just to get a customer in the door. With that said, I will also point out that I really like a challenge or fair competition -- that is what motivates me to continually research and design better products.
So this is how I see it. I made a offer to someone who continually posts that his motor is nothing special and that "there are all kinds of them at Pismo Beach kicking butt every weekend." Since there are so many of these fast Raptors, there should be no problem in me inviting any and all of them down for a free dyno day. I am just as interested as the readers on this site to learn how much horsepower these "average" Raptors put out. Even I can only take so many insults before something has to be said.

The offer to Lyle and/or Curtis is a friendly offer. Lyle is the one who has claimed that all of the other engine builders are making less than "average" engines. At the same time, so many people have accused him of running fuel it is only fair that someone like Harry offers the use of his shop to help Sparks/Lyle support their claims of unusual "average" performance on straight gas.

I am sure that this would be a fun event. Lyle will have the opportunity to show off more than one average Raptor and he will be able to support his claims of big horsepower numbers from mild build daily runner. Heck, while Lyle's machines are being tested perhaps some guys who have these fast Raptors from other builders would like to come down for a "Raptor dyno day."

Lyle don't you think it is a little pretentious to say that you have a "bull's eye" on your back? I have no idea if you really do have some high quality "average" engine build that nobody else can seem to equal. I am just interested (like the other readers) to see first hand what you have built for the common people. Come on down and show off your incredible skills.

If the offer that is presented is not sufficient, tell us what more needs to be done to get those "average" Raptors down South. You don't want to miss the "photo opp" do you????

as the owner of one of those "THE TRUTH IS HOW BAD ALL THE OTHER STUFF
RAN" machines I am VERY interested to see sparks put up or shutup. hey i can understand taking a shot like that at me and the other "home engine builders", but to suggest that sparks is the only one who can build an engine correctly is a bit out of line. trinity, CT, and FST, Powerroll, are all respected professionals, so lyle load that puppy up for the road trip and show us what you've got or was it just a one-hit-wonder with a little something extra there? I think trinity's offer is fair and generous (thanks Harry for stepping up to the plate), so lets see it happen

M-I-C-K-E-Y D-U-N-L-O-P - To busy building raptor motors to step back in and explain why you 3 think you are the greatest?

Guys- the stars did not line up right last night. Lyle will not be on the TRINITY dyno. Can i have his spot? I can't find a dyno around here.

Ah. So, the FCR's that you finally received were the standard non-jetted FCR's. OCEMR needles, 150 mains and 200 main air jets? It took me a while to work through that jetting nightmare. Did they at least ship the correct manifolds or do the carbs hit the frame?
If you need a hand, I am here to help -- I have been there done that with those FCR's.
