You lost both of them? Damn joeyd!

I haven't tried to bypass the switch so I cant help there. If you take the number off the ignition switch Yamaha can order you another one. I've never seen motorcycle/ATV keys at a locksmith.

Get the serial number off your frame, and take it to the dealer. They'll make you another. I lost the keys to a Honda TRX300 once, and had to do that.

The Ignition(key)is basically a toggle switch, So put a "regular" Toggle switch in its place. And GO RIDING!.

I always use a screw driver. If it doesn't work the first time just smack it real hard with a big hammer.

If you have another Yamaha try its key, many of them are the same. My warrior key also cranked my buds if you wiggled it a little.

Not all dealers have the equipment to make keys because it costs alot of moey to get set up.

We cut keys for $8.00 each for any Yamaha,Honda,Suzuki, and Cannondale.[Kawasaki's code system is screwed up royally]

All that is needed is the code number from the ignition switch. It is stamped on the side of the plastic ignition switch itself.

Keys cannot be made from the serial numbers unless the quad was purchased from that dealer who has the key code on file.

Just write down the code, or better yet take the ignition to a dealer who has the machine to cut the keys.

went to oklahoma and my brother in law forgot his sons key back in missouri, i reached up under the plastic and removed the two wires on the switch and jumpered them together. he rode like that all weekend, you just have to remember to unhook them when your done riding so the battery does not drain down.
