I just purchased a new 2001 Wolverine (2nd tank of gas) and it's an great quad except for one concern. After starting it or shifting into neutral when it is warm the idle races much to high. It is almost like the choke is on. However, when in gear it idles fine. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance

Assuming that the choke is operating properly, it sounds like you just need to simply idle it down. Has it always done this since you bought it??
Try it and see how it works.

You are right on it KNOWSALOT. Mine idles real low in gear but runs
fine. I would try just adjusting the idle.
The choke has three positions make sure its pushed all the way in.

Yes it has always done it, and the choke is all the way in. I will simply try the idle adjustment before I go riding this weekend.

Thanks

The reason for the high idle on the new bike is because the engine is new and everything was tight wen you bought it, now that you are breaking it n, things are losening up, therefore the engine doesnt have to work as hard as it once did to idle because things aren't are tight, parts spin easier. When you are through breaking it in just simply adjust the idle back down to normal and it will be fine. This is perfectly normal.

Mine did the same thing and I just screwed the idle down some.
