Warrior Oil Cooler
#1
Went riding this weekend and seen a warrior with an oil cooler mounted on the bike. Having the bike go through stall problems periodically in hot sandy conditions from what the local Yamaha guru stated as the engine getting to hot. Mentioned this attachment on the warrior i saw this weekend and he stated that would eliminate my problems with stalling out at noles and other dune locations.
Anyone seen one or know where to get one...been to a couple of online atv sights (rocky mountain atv and montana jacks) and nothng. Any info on where to pick one up and the cost would be appreciated...I know your thinking why didnt you just ask the guy that had one but wasnt sure of what it was and did then.

You can get the parts to ad an oil cooler from another yamaha quad which one though I am not sure anymore, I am thinking big bear or something like that.
you need the oil filter cover, lines, and cooler and it should be bolt on, once you find out which motor was similar..
check out riva yamaha's microfiche on the big bear or other utes.

The Wolverine engine is exactly the same, get a filter housing off of one,it has the hose fittings on it for a cooler. I have also heard the newer Big Bears will also work. Four Stroke Tech sells a cooler kit for the Warrior for 95 bucks, but also involves drilling and tapping fittings for the lines,if that is something you'd rather not do,go with the Wolv or Bear set up.

Fout Stroke Tech oil cooler here. Awesome setup, about $115 or so. I picked it up because we ride the dunes quite a bit in the summer and the air temp is in the upper 80's/low 90's. Figured on an air cooled motor the oil was bummin'. Plus a cooler motor = more power. Anyway, Mickey Dunlap (owner of FST) used to race Warriors in GNCC so he know's the hot setup, where the cooled oil needs to go once it's returned to the engine (crank, rod & piston) via the clutch cover. The Yamaha setup that is pieced together from a different quad (Big Bear I believe) returns through the oil filter and eventually get to the hot parts, but picks up residual heat along the way reducing it's effectiveness. I've had mine a couple of years now and am very happy with it. I can E-mail a couple of pics if you would like to see the install on my '95.
