Weird tire wear ??? Any model.

I'm getting really strange rear tire rear on my 01 Raptor but it might not be model specific. I've got ITP holeshot (22x11x9xct)rears and it appears the right tire is wearing significantly faster than the left - noticably ! I've looked at tire pressure (EQUAL)and other factors but cant see a reason why one side should wear faster than the other ???? I've been riding ATVs for +12 years and have never seen this one - anybody got a clue ?? I ride back on the same trails I left on, so it's not just a certain direction turn thing ??

I had a problem just like that with my Timberwolf, I got stuck in a creek and the right tire was completely underwater and the left was partily under water, and once i came back with some help 4 hours lately, and got it out, then i noticed that the tread was wearing down, then i took it off and the tire was water logged on the inside. But i should have guessed because it was pulling to the right when i was riding it. That could be it.

Call ITP. They may have made some xtc's with the wrong compound. can't hurt and they may send you replacements. you never know...as old uncle kuz use to say..."the squeaky wheel gets the oil"...i've been pondering this allday...i can't imagine what else could cause that. good luck.

one last thought...could one be un-balanced. any vibration? could your hub be slightly bent? i imagine if this was the case you might not feel alot of vibration if we are talking about rears. the fronts you would feel through the steering. is the wear on the tire even like a tire that has lost it's meat from riding or is it wearing like a car tire with an alignment problem...

The excessive wear appears pretty uniform but then again I occasionally get some "wobble" from the rear end on the long, fast hard trails. Not always, so I figure it's just the monkey snot re-organizing itself. Maybe not.
I phoned ITP and they said to jack the rear-end off the ground and check the circumference of each tire. There might be a problem there. The bigger tire will wear faster. Even though tire pressure is about the same, one tire could have a larger circumference. Sounds like a reasonable thing to check. He also said if I dont find any difference to call him back and he'd see what he could do to help me out with a replacement. He also mentioned it's not likely that the compound is diff because of the way they make the tires - they dont interchange the compounds / "molds" for different tires. Semmed like good customer service.
I'll let ya know what I find out !
