Any one else use it?? i use 100% synthetic marine oil form Boaters World.. its pretty well priced too. i don't like paying a lot of money for racing 2 stroke oil when the marine oil is way cheaper and workes just as well(for me). they come in 2 gal jugs too. i've used the same marine oil in my jet skis, banshee, blaster, and cr125 and they all out lived my friends bikes that use the racing oil.. so which is better for ur motor??

I know of folks that use 30 wt oil as well..but lets face it..
1) you don't get power from oil, you grt it from fuel.
2) some oils don't mix as well as others
3) the higher the ratio (leaner) the higher the film strength needs to be..
4) outboards use CLEAN,FRESH,COOL water, not air cooled, or a radiator..it makes a diffrence
5) now it may be a QUALITY oil & that's ok, but the regular marine oils I would'nt run in a bike or quad (see #4)
6) if it meets other specs than the BIA (boating spec, it's probally worth looking into..all depends on how far
you want to push the jetting issue beyond 50;1..

I 've been informed that marine(boats, not PWCs) oils are designed more specificaly for the constant load, slow revving nature of marine engines. As you know a shee is quick revving, the engine and the loads its get put under vary alot more than a marine engine.Follow?I do not know the science behind this however.Good luck.

Marine oil are made to work with low temperature, so your oil will burn faster, then your engine may run hotter than it should. I wouldn't do that if I wa you

Ok thanx for all the info guys but i just read the back of the oil jug and it said that it is reccomended for use of ANY oil injection or premix 2 stroke engine.. Then it gives a list of all the factory names: yamaha, suzuki, mercury, nissan, ect, ect. I am not saying you guys are wrong you all made very good points its just that i've been running every two stroke engine that i've owned on this oil and they never have had any major probablms do to lack of lubrication.

Also jet skies run at very high rpms most the time you are riding them. I know this because i have one and you hit the gas and the tacomdetor shoots up form 1,000rpm to 7,8,9, or 10,000 rpm depending how you are riding it. but you guys made very good points and i am thinking about changing to some other kind.. maybe yamalube.

If it is like marketing of other products, then the only difference could be the label.

Example, look at plain Excedrin, then look at Excedrin Migraine. Exact same active ingredients and concentrations. However, Excedrin Migraine cost more than 2X that of the plain stuff because the FDA allowed them clearance to claim migraine headache pain releif.

I don't know the difference in the oils but the motorcycle/ATV two storke DOES get as lot hotter than a marine engine so your question should be: Will marine 2 stroke oil work as well in a hotter environment or will the different chemical properties (if there are any) cause premature engine wear/failure in an ATV that is going to run hotter . Think about this: A marine two stroke needs a new top end afer about 8 million hours of use while hard ridden MX bikes/ATV's need a new top end after as little as 50 hours.
