how do you expand a blaster motors life???

I have not rode the blaster with the 240 kit yet. It was bored 80 over when I bought it and I blew it up in 2 weeks running 24:1 ratio. The guy at the shop suggested me to put the 240 kit in it but it is also getting a new hot rod connecting rod and clutch. I sand blasted the head and jug to keep the paint from holding in heat and I am trying to rig a fan to help cool the engine.

I agree with almost all of what CW has to say but one: keeping close to stock is your best bet for long life, but unless you run a high compression piston,93 octane would eventually cause some problems.Higher octane slows the flame front in the combustion chamber to prevent the random 'explosions' that cause pinging in a high compression engine. In a stock or near stock compression engine, the additives in the premium,or race gas would not get burned because of the lower chamber temp, and start to build up in the cylinder and the piston. It could even get to the point of making the rings stick from deposites. So, yes, for long life, keep it sane on the mods, horse power is real fun, but the cost is more maintenence and possibly shorter life between rebuilds, but hi octane is not required unless you bump the compression up quite a bit.

The only way you can keep the blaster going forever would keep it relativley stock, take the oil injection off and mix 32:1, change the trans oil regulary and not to run the snot outta it. I know "The Blaster God" would prob not agree with me but owell. Also i personally for my trans oil use belray and for pre mix i use yamalube, both work great.

Well rincon, i think you are mistaken about race gas running hotter. It is just harder to ignite than regular gasoline and sometimes comes with additives like lead.

If you want your motor to last a long time, Take off the injection system and run AMSoil 100:1 premix at a 50:1 to 70:1 ratio.
