Off topic a bit- Supercharged tow rigs??

<< Those are some pretty low RPMs, you must have highway gears in that thing. Swap out those gears and you will have alot more towing power. >>
There's the solution....change the gears and it will be like a new truck. I run 4.30:1 with my V-10 and the thing will tow all day and not complain or feel like it is underpowered!

4.30!!! Now that's a low geared machine. My Diesel has 3.54s and my Suburban has 3.73s. The diesel doesn't need anything lower but the Suburban with the stock TBI 350 and 4X4 is a pig. Although it will get 18 mpg on the highway. The diesel gets from 19 mpg to 22 mpg and will get over 18 even when towing the trailer with the quads. I also always tow in overdrive unless the tranny starts shifting back and forth on it's own a bunch. My trannies usually last till around the 130,000 mile mark using overdrive to tow with and friends of mine that are advocates of not using overdrive for towing seem to actually get less. Plus they waste a lot more fuel than I do. With the 35 inch tall tires I would think yours would shift a bunch on hills though. I'm running 32 inch tall tires on both rigs and I think I'm going to switch the diesel to 33 inch tall tires.

Thats why diesel motors are awesome, no mater how hard you work them they will always give you OK fuel mileage, unlike gas motors that will suck it down like no tomorrow. Also a diesel can get away with much higher gears because of all the torque. I wish I bought a diesel now. I had a choice between the a diesel and a gas job, I picked the gas job. Oh well, its not like I drive my truck everyday.

first things first, i hope you know the difference between supercharging(blower) and turbocharging(turboed)with an application like the one you mentioned, adding a blower isnt always the best answer. when running one, the engine really shouldnt have more than 7:1 compression and im guessing that the stock pistions in the 6.0 are around 10:1. you will have a high chance of early detonaton unless you plan on using race gas in your truck
i dont know too much about turbo charging a vehicle so i cant help you there
but if you really want to do it, put some low compression pistions in there and maybe run something like 10-15 lbs from the blower.
or a compleately different option, put in a new camshaft(one appropriate to you rpm), put some headers on, new intake manifold, on to your rpm, and maybe a bigger throttle body.
in all these applications changing the sensers will be neccesarry and i would strongly suggest streangthening the transmission
nitrous is not a good solution in a tow rig unless you like rebuilding every couple of years
