I think everyone has replied to this post EXCEPT AdamsBadDS650.
What's the story buddy?? I wen't to your web page and is seems that we have similar bikes. Both are 02's, blk/wht & Yoshimura full pipe.
If you get into some trouble see if you can get someone to come over and spot you. Did you do any head work or porting before you install your cam?? Can I assume that you are planning on installing either a "Stage 1" or a "Stage 2" HotCam??
At what stage are you in the teardown??

Swyjak- since i am traveling all the distance, i say we put some $$ on the race. Nothing big say 500. I do not want to take all your rent/grocery money. Just big enough to smile, not enough to hurt. No other bets cause then it starts getting personal and blown out of perportion. Just a friendly wager
fEAR- I Doubt it. The compound has not raced any timed/fast machines that we can see. Other than velocity nobody else
's quad in the compound is as modifed at this point.

Yes, it is a stage 1 Hotcam, I have not gone any farther, I'm going to the local hardware store today to pick up some Metric Allen sockets.
RCR, there's no need to insult me, remember, this is my first time taking apart the Rappy, I've done this on the DS650 a few times. Never changed cams, hope I can do it, but I can get help if I need it. Luckily this month's ATVSport magazine has an article on "Top end assembly for four-strokes" and the Rappy motor is the demo. So it tells me pretty much everything. Piston at TDC, line up the marks, tie up the chain, take cam out, take cam gear off old cam, and on new cam, replace cam, lobes facing down, and line up timing chain EXACTLY how I took it out. Sound good?
What do you mean by "dialing in"? like how am I going to jet it, or how am I going to break it in? Jetting, I think I am going to try a 165/160 first.

We have Raced Faster Machines than You Have 14mins. An Won. First it was "Oh Velocity has'nt Raced any Fast Machines". Well we have Proof now and now it's "Velocity's the only Fast Machine in the Compound". You got any Pics of your Races? I haven't seen you win anything. You said we don't have Race Machines up here, well I got the pics to prove that we Do. 170rwhp Banshees aren't Fast? 80hp Raptors are'nt Fast? DS760's aren't Fast? 900 person drag Race is'nt big enough I suppose. An as far as "Timed" who gives a Flyin F*cK about times. At FSW are you gonna be out there with a Stop Watch? NO, it's Mano A Mano or Mano's, whoever gets there first.
For your Info the Compound will have a Black Robertson 727 soon. Velocity is not the only one with a Built Machine. I'm tired of you tellin people we haven't raced any fast machines. The only machines you have raced are the ones in the ATPT. We have'nt seen any of those run. Just what you have told us. So what makes your word on fast more pliable than Ours? I asked you to come show us what fast was. I told you I would pay your way and Pay for your rooming. You did'nt show. I would of set you up with food and Beer too. The whole reason the 727 and Tuned Raptor were built was to take out the 760 that has won the past 2 years. That has been Done, when you won the Sandfeast wheres the Proof in that. How many machines did you have to race?
