I took my head cover off today, to change cams, to find that my head cover has a huge crack in it. I have no idea how it got there, but it is not useable. I need a new head cover FAST in time for the ATPT nationals. The rocker arms are still useable, all I need is the whole head cover that houses the rocker arms. If someone has one that they could lend me, I would gladly pay for it, and return it if it is needed again. Please help!

That sucks Adam, I don't have any parts like that laying around. You may be hard pressed to find somebody with an extra. I just looked at the parts finder, it looks like the cover comes as part of the cylinder head, it doesn't list it separately. Whole thing is $515, I really hope someone has one if you really can't get it separate. I'll check with my Yamaha dealer tomorrow for you, I have to go by there anyway.

Just thinking aloud, but wouldn't 14 or RRC or somebody over there have an extra? Or atleast one you could borrow for a day or two.

Adam- I told you earlier on the phone thati thought we had you covered. The head i bought off of ebay is at the post office waiting for me to pick up. We need to verify if you can bolt the cover on or not. They are machined together to fit as one. You may or may not be able to do that.

Ward- it is broke in 2, adam sent me pics

Adam..get it welded. It will hold. We used to do it on DSM's all the time. Make sure you find a GOOD welder though..don't take it to some hole in the wall with a lincoln welder they bought at home depot for $300. Then if you don't trust it..you can always find another one somewhere..but this way you'll be able to ride and make it to the ATPT nationals.

Which part are ya'll talking about? I was thinking that it was the peice that held the rockers and the valve covers.
