Don't Buy the 2001 under no circumstances!!!!!!I lost second gear today on mine just trail riding,if Yamaha had of done the right thing they would have recalled these 2001 models and fixed their junk trannys.I personally will go with a different brand next time i plop down $6500.Good luck

martian,

Was your motor stock and how many hours did you have on your 01?

if you have a chance, check POWROLL website. they have developed a list of the perfect parts to update yer trans, and they're all factory parts. remember, these are the guys who nitrous, big bore, and turbo these critters....
I dont think thet sell them, but they'll give you the number s free. a great deal.

LoL. I am keeping my Banshee, and I am going to build it, but I want to get a Raptor as an everyday rider, and for my gf when we are at the dunes, because she is afraid to really get on the Banshee hard.

Like I said, I am going to pick up one of the 03's that I found. Thanks guys for the info.

Yea, I grew up riding 4 strokes. Well, except for dirtbikes, my banshee is the 1st 2stroke quad I have owned. Its a blast to ride, but its just soo damn "finicky"!!

I mostly blame my problems I am having with my bike on the previous owner, I have found more than a few things he didnt do right. I will be tearing into it this week, and will hopefully have it back up and running by this coming weekend.

Sorry i haven't gotten back sooner,no its not stock.Powerbomb header,powercoreiv silencer,wiseco 11:1 piston,stage 2 hotcam,FTZ portwork,ti valve springs,210 main jets,K+N filter w/outerwear,modded lid.Wasn't aware of tranny problems before I did all this.Luckily, I was going slow.Don't think i messed up anything else.I rode it back to my trailer,took it easy shifting from 1st to 3rd.(2nd just freewheels)Don't have many hours on it,maybe around 75 at most.
