Ok guys this is confusing me really,

Ive been riding amost daily since i was 3, and have ridden alot of things but my current bike is a warrior, Its got a pipe,jetted,K&N,Pro Design Intake,some pretty aggresive rear tires and its been totaly rebuilt. Well we have a good sized track near my house and all the people in the hood ride there, well a week ago or so me on my warrior, an jetted banshee,a 300ex,a polaris 400 scrambler, and a blaster(Mine also), ok well we started and the z started in the back and i started in the front row with the 300 and the polaris, well after about 4 laps it had seperated out a little, i was 1st,Z was 2nd,Blaster,300ex 3rd,polaris 4th. we ran a 10 lap race, the guy on the z has been riding along time and in my opinion is pretty good, well i can get out all my 6 gears on this flat track, there is alot of sliding involed in the corner, i could stay in front of the z if i didnt let it push in the corner, but on the 8th lap i went to far out and missed my gears and he got around me, i mean he really beats me in a drag race and all but howcome he doesnt walk all over me on the track like i thought he could???? im just confused about it is all anybody got any ideas????
