Default Curiosity Poll for 03' 660 Grizz Axles

Just experienced the toasted axle syndrome this past weekend. Snapped the left rear axle on my 03 Grizz. I took the outer axle apart to inspect the damage only to find fragments of the bearing LOL! Clock is showing 720 miles. I currently have 27" Titan 589 M/T's. To make matters worse, my best friend has a machine identical to mine and suffered a broken right front axle that same day with a whopping 130 miles on the machine. And for the record, both machines were on solid ground at the times of the mishaps. Has anyone else been a victom?

take it to a good dealer--have them call their tech line---give them the vin and date pf purchase--order a new axle or whatever you need --- put it in and go play---think they have a little glitche ---but it's being worked on ---probably as we speak

Check out the highlifter forum. Many people have had this happen to them who have posted there.

NC660,
Has your dealer already told you that it was covered under warranty? When my 99 Wolverine's axle bent I had to call Yamaha Customer service several times before they would replace it. The deal I bought it from would not fight for me to get a new one so I had to do it myself. Finally they sent an axle but would not pay to have it put on so I put it on myself. The YES (Yamaha Extended Service) only cover manufactures defect and they said I must have jumped it or something to bend the axle.

I have a 2002 gizz have not had a problem with the axles yet but they do make a clicking sound from time to time.
How ever my nephew has a '03 grizz with about 200 miles on it and ground up the rear right axle the other day.
I think that they are getting it fixed under warrenty...Text

I have about 250 miles on mine so far with no problems,...knock on wood Hopefully I will not experince any of the axle problems that are out there. I do have the extended warrenty though.

Thanks for all the info guys. The dealer replaced the shattered axle under warranty being that it was only 3 months old. My Grizz is resting peacefully in my garage because its going to be one wild ride tomorrow hehe Take care guys and Happy Thanksgiving
