Default Wolverine clutch

Just wanted to ask those who have a manual clutch on their Wolverines if it was worth it, how much it cost and where to get it done.

Also if anyone has the Mikuni 36mm carb from alba, what jets are you using and what altitude are you at.

Thanks for the info.

Default Wolverine clutch

I would like to know that myself Wolverine350R, I just blew the engine on mine and upon inspection I noticed that the plates in the automatic clutch unit were grinded up (i think some of that was from where i locked the thing up). When pricing a new auto clutch unit, they dont sell just the plates so you have to buy the whole thing and i think its $205.00 for the clutch carrier assy. But thankfully mickey dunlap came out with a way to make the wolverine a fully manual bike, this gets rid of the whole automatic clutch unit in the first place so even if its broken i wont need it. I can answer the cost, its $95 which isnt a bad deal and when you get it back, its ready to bolt on. I do have a queston for you though, how much is the 36mm race carb?

The cost of the carb was a little over $200. The part I needed to fix mine was $100, so I just got the new carb. I can't get the thing jetted though.

I tried the 36mm carb a while back, but since it is a round slide, and no accelerator pump, I couldn't get it to run decent off the bottom end. I also found the slide spring overly stiff, and made the thumb throttle a bit hard to push. I ended up selling it to a guy with a Warrior. I think the main problem is the auto clutch engaging at lower rpms, while a manual clutch would let you rev it up and accleratl better. If you put the manual kit in your Wolverine, it might make the carb work better.

Hey Pro rider from Darwin, how much of a difference did it make putting in the cam and piston kit? I was also wandering how much of an offset do you run on your wheels? I also have the same problems with my 36mm carb. It runs great on top but crappy at idle, I thought about lightening those weights inside the primary clutch so that it would engage at a higher RPM. What carb did you got with after getting rid of that one?

Thanks

The piston and cam really seemed to pep it up, but the old piston was so sloppy, it was loosing a lot of power. Now, it spins the 25's like the little 23's, that was on ITP steel rims, now the aluminum ones are a lot lighter, rides a lot better with all that weight off the wheels. They are stock offset, fits fine, never had a problem with the bigger tires, even as wide as they are. I'm running 25-8-12 front,25-10-12 back, and they are a lot wider than stock, the fronts are as wide as the factory 10 inch rears !! I am back to running the stock carb, been playing with the accelerator pump stroke and jetting, bottom end is still a little off, I've seriously been thinking of the new Edelbrock Quicksilver carb, they make one for the Warrior, it's a little spendy, but it is supposed to add great hp and jetting is adjusted from the outside. If I manage to find one, I'll install it and let you all know how it runs.
