Default taking apart cv joints

Hi, I just bought two cv joints at the salvage yard and I beleve they come from a yamaha. I want to use them on a small race car and for that I need to take them apart to stretch the axle. I have done that before without any problem. Usually there is a circlip on the spline and it is accessible if you remove the rubber boot. After that, the axle come apart. In this case, I have removed the rubber boot but can't see a circlip. Anyone knows how the axle is held in place?
(I have problems with the side that gets in the hub)
thanks for your help

i used to work at a cv shop rebuilding them all day every day. it probably has a crush ring on the spline inside the knuckle. used a rubber mallet and give it a good whack towards the "off" position.. it should slip over the ring and come off,,, to get back on.. just whack it back into the seat.

yeah-- one end has a circlip and the other is an internal retainer. (spring steel)
