i am going to try running half race gas (110 octane) and half premium pump gas and have heard so many opinions on wether or not it is benificial that i would like to hear from someone who actually uses it in your high compression raptor.the opinions i have heard vary greatly so hearing from someone who uses it on their raptor and if it is worth the trouble and expense is what i am after .thanks

You dont have any upper end noise? I had a 10.75:1 and i had lots of noise in the top end untill i started running race gas. But then again my bike is dead.

Air- Have you verified your compression ratio? What brand of gasoline? Different porting methods could result in slightly less than 11:1. Just curious since motor mods are next on my list. Thanks!

I run a 50/50 mix in my bike and havn't had any problems related to it. Airraptor is right by saying a race fuel will slow you down, but only if you have to much octane(slow burn rate). For optimal performance you want to run the lowest octane fuel you can without causing detonation. Detonation will end a weekend quickly if you can't hear it, I think a 25/75 mix might be a good place to start...spending less on fuel is only cost effective if it isn't damaging your motor.

I run VP red 50/50 with pump gas no probs. Greg V tried 25% trick 118 75% pump and his bike knocked big time,Ive ran 50/50 118/pump and no probs so go figure

We had a 11-1 686 out there that needed 107 octane to run. It is a trail and error thing. What works for one may not work for another

airraptor- the reason i wanted to try the so called race gas was for the cooler operating temperature i have heard i could achieve with it but if excessive carbon build up is a by product i dont think that sounds very interesting.this is a subject that gets greatly varied opinions given but when i add up the cost on top of potential carbon build up i think just a good premium pump gas will do me just fine .i dont know about anyone else but i can tell a difference when running premium pump gas with a good octane boost i know that a lot of people dont believe in octane boost but my experience has shown that if nothing else you seem to get better throttle response, at least in a high performance four stroke.thanks for the responses .

I've got 2 raptors with 11-1 pistons and cams I mix 50-50 with 90 and 110race gas. Rode them hard for six months, had to tare one down and it had less carbon build up than it did when it had the stock piston in it.
