PLEASE do yourself a favor and get rid of those balloon tires. Dont go with the holeshot xc's or xct's, they weigh a ton. try the new mxr's if you get holeshots. otherwise, i like the razors. actually, just anything besides those balloons.

The first thing i would do is not buy one, why would you want a air cooled engine?
But if you must

1. extend the swingarm 4" Its wheel base is too short, besides it will look much better!!!
2. Get rid of the oil injection and mix the oil fuel yourself. Im sure Nacks sells the block off kit. Use Klotz and mix it 34 to 1 ratio 34/1
3. If you ride in water and mud leave the air box alone. If you dont, buy a clamp on k & N air filter
4. 34 mm Keihen carb
5. Install a LRD pipe. I like LRD due to the fact u can adjust the baffle section of the pipe to satisfy your engine mods
6. Install a Vitos power piston. The piston is beveled on the exhaust side of the crown, giving a longer exhaust duration. Its cheaper then having the cylinder ported but less effective.
7 Increasing the compression ratio, depending on what fuel you will burn

If you need any help with this let me know, Ive done like 20 of these

those are good mods, but in no way are they necessary. my cousin took the oil injection out, and he seems to like it better, so that is definately legitamate. The air filter is always a good idea on any quad. However, those other mods, like the swing arm and all the engine work, are good things to build up to. My cousin has a blaster bored 30 over with a dg header and cobra pipe. It runs very well, and can keep up with the raptor through the first few gears. They are plenty quick without complete modification. As far as liquid cooling goes, many many quads have done very well for a very long time w/ air cooled engines, 400ex is the most recent. Many of the older 2 strokes are air cooled as well. As long as you dont plan on running high temp gases, you would be fine with the air cooling.
