They call it snake hunt. Rattlesnakes are the target. Now where are these snakes?? If they are crising thru the dunes count me out. I will go the week after you guys pick them all up. I DO NOT LIKE SNAKES! NOR do i care to have one thrown in to my truck by a prankster. lol I guess if i go i will lock the doors and wear my boots. So what is the deal??

I've yet to see one snake on the dunes in the 7-8 trips I've made out there. I did however see one big ***** of a snake slithering through the south campground one day. Wasn't a rattler, but it was a big boy! I think they hunt them in the hills near the dunes. Besides.....Raptors eat snakes!

14, When you drive up this time, you'll notice that LS is surrounded by ROCK plateau's. THATS WERE THIER AT!!!!!!!!!!!! If you go into town, to the little Rattle Snake derby, you will see plenty of those CREEPY Bastards[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img] At most RattleSnake hunts, you can pay, and they will take you out and let you catch some.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

I've been going to Sahara since the 70's & have seen rattlesnales in the dunes twice.
I wasn't pleased to see them either time.
I'm more afraid of crashing & landing on a porcipine than being snake bit!! LOL

 

I went to it last year, didnt do much of the hunting of the stupid snakes. I dont like them either. I only like them if I have my .22 with me. I ran over a snake on my threewheeler when I was little, those were the days. Im thinking I will probably make it there again this year, if I can get my R back together before then. Take care.

Bigger- The last few times i went to Little Sahara it was almost midnight before i got there. Those that ride with me wonder if i am watching the rode or asleep behind the wheel. Since the state put those rumble srtips on the road......

 

LOL! Yea I was thinking back, and I cant remember a time that you got thier before Mid-night! lol.
