i am very happy with the power and performance my raptor is giving me but it seems it is never enough if you know what i mean,i am ready for more power as long as it is reliable.all i have done so far is a 102mm high comp 11;1 piston /pro design air filter/fmf power bomb header and q-muffler/what other engine mods could i do and still retain the reliability i want for every day riding.i am getting my 4" over swingarm next week so that will help with the hole shots for dragging at the dunes but i would like to boost overall horsepower that is useful for general duning also.any ideas would be appreciated.

 

A stage 1 hotcam would fit the bill, port & polish, FCRs. If you don't ride muddy trails eliminate the air box. Check out the last two photos on my page in the gallery.

Yes I have been thinking of going to the duel 250R filter for a while now... The filter adapter plate in that pic looks like he made it.... Would not be that hard to do at all.

hey dune the cam seems like a good direction, the carb might be something to wait on the guys with the 690 raptors have the carbs on one of the 690 and he said he wasn't happy with it. i also put the carb on the ds, and it is starting to come around but at first i wasn't pleased, as you know. but for allround trail riding it was great. but if you are interested i might be able to get you a deal on some carbs, i have a bunch of buddies in the snowmoblie business and they seem to come across a lot of carbs.
