yep, i know how ya feel. Nordy did a pretty good job answering the question tho.. Its just these damn dry sumps. There inconsistent. I guess if you put in the right amount and you dont burn oil...dont worry about. Thats how im about to feel pretty soon cause i pretty much give up.

The trick I've found is to warm up the motor then let it set there for a minute or so then start to check it. You need the oil to settle in the tank so once the bike warms up shut it down then do a little clean up empty quarts of oil filter box etc... then check it and re check it to see where you stand. You might need a little more then 2 quarts if you let it drip for awhile. The only thing that I'd be worried about is too much oil in the motor excess psi and might get some blow by or something. I was the same way when I frist got my raptor you'll get used to it.
