Default Raptor Shock n Tire Questions

What do the resorvoirs do for shocks. Are they just easier to adjust? What makes triple rate so much better than double? Where can I find tires like Holeshots or RazRs, something like that for a Raptor in stock size(20x10-9) I cant find them anywhere. Anybody know where I can get a repair manual on a 01' V-star?

WOW..so many questions....First off, reservoirs help the shocks by holding more gas or fluid(depending on shock). The more gas or fluid, the more abuse or work the shocks can handle before the shock starts to heat up internally and cause a "fade" of the inner components, causing the suspension to feel more "spongy" and not working as affectively in a hard ride or race. By having an external reservoir, the gas or fluid stays cool when air is hitting it during the ride or race. Holeshots can be found at any aftermarket company that carries tires. Buy an ATV magazine for best prices. Your local Yamaha or other ATV dealer will drain your wallet for ITP's. Hope this helps!!!

What type of riding do you prefer. I race desert and went with 22" XCT's on the rear and 22" XC's on the front. They are both on stock rims and don't affect the handling or power and plus they are 6 ply to handle sharp rocks and desert brush without punctures or flats...

rockymountainatv.com has 20x11x9 Razr's for $48. I'm not sure how much it costs to ship them though... anybody know? I'm thinking about buying some paddles with .190 rims, about how much to ship them?

Also www.treadepot.com has them for $42 for 4ply and $49 for 6ply, they are in Georga and www.rockymountainatv.com is in Utah so shipping will vary depending on were your shipping to.FYI For me in Florida treadepot is about $20 cheaper for shipping on a 4 tire set.

What size tire will fit on a 10-9 wheel. Has to be 20 inch because I have wheel spacers and it leans forward more because of them and I'm not going 2 inches bigger on the back.
