no power for starter?
#1
well two weeks ago i decided to start up my warrior cause i put it up for sale and all. Hit the button...nothin. i jump started it and it started up. After idling for 2 minutes it stalled but it didnt make enough power to have the battery start it i guess. This weekend, i rode it for a good ten minutes after push starting it and it barely could crank the engine. What do u guys think is wrong. Needs a new battery, alternator or the equivalent, or what? it runs fine. Does anybody know a test i can do to diagnose the problem so im not replacing things that arent broken?
thanks for the help. Warrior86

check the battery fluid level first. Then check all of your connections. If all of those are ok and its not a fuse or something in that area and the battery has power, then well it may be the starter itself, before you try to start it up again, take the starter off, what is shot is the $2 rubber seal. It is letting oil into the starter and shorting it out. If youre lucky you may be able to salvage it, luckily I seem to be good at electronics and have a lot of materials and tools to help and I salvaged it, I didnt think it would work but it did. Anyway check all of this and see what happens,

well thats the thing...if i ride it for a couple of minutes, turn it off, then try to start it again. Its not completely dead. The starter just gives a super weak crank. Instead of chum chum chum chum, its chhhuuuummmm.......chuuuummmm......chaa...then just goes dead. Could this be related to the fact that ive been starting it by sparking the relay instead of using starter button because the starter button hasnt been working? thanks

if you take the battery out and bring it to autozone they will check it for free, good place to start.

it might be ur relay or coil that it brocken the little round piece near ur fuses. or the water level in your battery or something is gone. i dont think its the starter if it is you will proabaly need new brushes.
