Default EGT for tuning

Why don't people buy an EGT and tune their own bikes? From the sounds of it, it looks like you could tune your bike anywhere you go.

I think they are pretty neat, but I don't want something (as in the sensor) sticking through the head pipe blocking flow. Plus I really don't think they look that good in there. Other than that I think they are a great tool, kinda expensive but...

I've got one on my quad and they are definately not to slow. Great tuning tool, checked the egt readings with the plug and know exactly when it's running to rich or lean without pulling a plug.

No problem, I wasn't sure about them at first, but I wouldn't ride now without one. Especially on a modded motor, to much money to let melt down. I used to pull a plug just cause I wasn't sure about it, but now only every once in a while and the egt is always right on the money and it's very responsive. I have an analog setup from hpd and it only cost around 100. You can get one from digitron with egt and tach for around 200.
