Default Tao Tao ata125D Throttle

Are there any adjustments that can be made to the thumb throttle on the handlebar? What I mean is the thumb throttle can be moved about a half inch to a full inch before anything happens. It just feels loose and is hard to start off slow. Starts are really herky jerky because of this.
Thanks.

There should be an hex shaped steel adjusting collar on the throttle cable to take up any slack like you describe. There's also the the black Phillips head screw near the thumb throttle used to limit the amount of throttle lever travel for young, inexperienced riders.

Usually there is a adjustment in the cable.. just below the throttle.. Or maybe a adjustment at the carb?

I am familiar with the speed limiter, which I've used, and I will check the slack in the cable and see if there is any give there and check the collar.
Thanks!
