That is factory spec from the manual. I aim for .028

Well the instructions on the can says to spray without the belt turning. Then start your engine and run it to disperse the fluid. I suppose it would not hurt to do it while the belt is running too. I had one can that says spray sparingly and another that said spray liberally...so I stick with what the instructions on the can of belt dressing says.

It seems to keep lasting without any issues. I did this initial application because I went riding and the belt kept slipping when trying to drive up steep hills. It would also lose the ability to do a quick take off. So I don't know if this was due to the dusty roads I was riding or just that it may have needed to be sprayed because it was fresh from the factory at the time...

I put on the K&N filter yesterday and there is definitely a much better difference in overal performance. Greater speed, greater response, just a better performing ATV now. Definitely worth it. Give it time to warm up too, and that's when you'll see the difference.

Not only that but keep in mind that when I took the stock airbox off the unit (after I sealed the whole thing with silicon) the hose between the airbox and the carb STILL had dirt in it! The only thing at this point to blame would be the filter. Those crappy Chinese filters must do a really bad job of filtering out dust. Another reason for using a high end aftermarket filter...

Thank's for the responses Mandrake51, I will go buy a can belt dressing just in case. I seriously doubt that my wife will ever want quicker take off, but you never know.

Carb Problems - we've had alot of problems with the chokes not working properly as well as several units wanting to dump fuel right out of the crate.
How can you correct the choke problem. I have a unit that will not idle at all in the cold weather. It will
start and then cough and die within about 2-3 seconds. It runs fine when it is warmer, but around 30degrees or less, no luck what so ever.

Anyhelp would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks

I have a choke problem too that started when the weather got cold. Still haven't resolved it yet. I thinking about just swapping the entire carb if I can get Yamoto to warrant the part. I've only had it 4 months. Mine idles ok fine if I can get it started.

Is the K&N filter a direct replacement or is it a universal application? Did you have to modify the air box?

throw the air box away. Keep the tube that connected the airbox to the carb. You then use a 1 1/2" (outside diameter) plastic pvc coupling or something like that as a male coupler to connect the end of the tube to the end of the K&N filter (both the filter and tube end being female ends). Use hose clamps to connect.

MANDRAKE, KINGDAVE and MYWIFESQUAD - Do you guys have digital cameras so you can post pics of your Yamotos and some of the mods you've done. Can you post them in your personal pages?? That would be cool if we could see what you guys have done.
