Not sure where the needle clip is either. It could possibly be the valve set starter.

My rear suspension has loosened up a bit since it was new. I put the LT 160 shocks on the front. They worked out really good. I also keep the air pressure in the tires pretty low. That made a big difference.

On the top of the carb where the cable goes in you can unscrew the cap and pull the cable with the cap out and you will see the carb slide. In the middle of this slide there is the needle. Remove the cable with the spring from the slide. You can take the needle out of the slide and there is a very small eclip on the needle. This is set in the middle position by the factory. When it is cold you want to lower this clip to give it more fuel while starting and at idle. This will make the choke work alot better when cold. You can put the clip in the 1st or 2nd position. the lower the clip the richer the mixture. You want it rich when cold and leaner when hot. I can almost bet this will help you. I have been riding quads for over 15yrs and this is just one of those that most quad riders deal with.

2manytoys, Those are great instructions how to do this. Thank you very much. I will try it out and see if it works.

I just found out that the dealer near me doesnt have any 04 Raptor 660's. =(. Will have to travel to get it now. Thanks for the info and i'll post how it worked when i do it.

Originally posted by: jcotti As for the suspension, it does seem to be pretty stiff. I dont know how to make it softer, or if you even can with the stock shocks. As the weather warms up here in mass and spring approaches i will spend more time on it.
The simplest way to soften the front suspension is to swap the front tires around from side to side. This puts the valve stems on the inside and widens the front end about 4". It puts more leverage on the front shocks and makes them softer. The rear shock is worthless, my wifes had 9/16" travel. I replaced it with a shock from a mid 80's cr80. If you havn't already, check it out in my pics.

How does switching the tires help with suspension? Thats a pretty easy fix, will do. I have also heard about taking the cover off of the air filter or something, does this help in some way?

The offset of the wheels is different from the inside to the outside. Switching the wheels around widens the front end, which puts more leverage on the shocks. Which in turn softens the front end. I accomplished the same thing by making wheel spacers. The 110 had a cardboard restricter plate in the air box, to the best of my knowledge there is nothing on the 150 like that. I have replaced the stock air box with a UNI pod filter.

How did you make wheel spacers? And didnt that leave you with less "meat" to bolt the wheel back on? I dont think I will be able to make spacers, so I will swap the tires around. This doesnt cause any ill affects, faster tire wear or something??

I am a machinist, so making the wheel spacers was easy. I bolt the spacers to the hub with stock nuts, and then used new bolts to bolt wheel to spacer. You need to swap side to side to keep the tires directional. This puts the valve stems on the inside. The front suspension will be much improved and it will increase the stability of the quad too. i cant imagine any ill affects from this.

Ok great that makes sense. We got 15 more inches of snow here overnight so my son will want to go ride today being home from school. I will go out and try swapping them today. Thanks for all the help.

Good deal, let me know what you think. I lived in the snow until '73, I was 13. Loved snow days, probubly not as popular as a parent though.
