What exactly is the power/torque gain after changing to the K&N on these Yamoto 150's? I need to do this. Not actual HP #'s. How does the machine feel compared to stock? Thanks.

Whether it gives you power or not you need to do it for the better filtration.

I ordered the K&N and haven't gotten it yet. I'll let you know after I get it installed and take it for a spin.

Just finished up installing the UNI filter on my wifes quad, I did not end up using the airbox. I wanted to mount it up higher to keep from kinking the intake hose. If I did that I would never get to the screws on the side of thr airbox without removing the front plastic and the gas tank. It is tucked up pretty high and should not be a problem with the way my wife rides.

So basically, it's just an open air filter? That is probably what I will do when I get the K&N.

Yes it is, I have kept the old airbox just in case I decide to try abd make it fit. Most likely will leave it as it is, it is real easy to service now.

Has anyone had a problem with the valve set starter on the carb? Its the part that has 2 wires plugged into it. I've been having choke problems and think this part is the cause. I noticed when I turn on the key it gets hot. I've been having trouble starting the quad in cold weather and think this may be the cause. Thanks

Thanks for the info.

I just got the K & N filter intstalled. I did notice a slight gain in throttle response/acceleration. Not really a gain in top end speed, but you definitely can tell the difference. Also sounds a little better. Still won't start when it's cold but it was 70 degrees here on Sunday and it fired right up.

Definitely sounds better hearing the air going in the carb. Throatier for sure.
