New 400cc Tank Scout Arrived
#61
I may but I need to figure out the clutch issue because as of now the atv is embarrassing to ride with the name brand guys. Underpowered and won't climb hills that my nephews 110cc tao tao could probably climb. Everyone went riding this weekend and once again I could not go partly because of my busy schedule currently but mainly because of the lack of replacement parts I should of recieved weeks ago from Tank-Sports. Talk about aggrivating....I not only am dealing with 3 different guys from Tank-Sports but haven't heard from any of them since last tuesday. I am getting doubtful that any of this will ever get resoved and I will ever recieve my parts. I get so disqusted everytime I walk by the atv in the garage.
I can buy a 2007+ 400cc IRS Big Bear for $3500 now around here so that was my main reason for just selling it.

Hell Ive been impressed with this cheap 200cc Honda 2 wheel drive ATV I bought for $700 the other day, Ive gotten many days on the trails under it - never been stuck and its never failed to go anywhere Ive asked it to, with ease. Well it go anywhere - no, it certainly has limitations.....but it will go places that have so far exceeded my nerve.
I think your plan on getting a good used unit is a damn fine plan. Hell good wheelers down here can be found cheap. Ive got a line on a 2001 Yamaha 4wd wheeler, either 350 or 400, cant remember with a new winch and snow plow.....asking price is $1500.
You can have a ton of fun on solid and used, new and shiny doesnt always get you where you need to be.
Good luck with the repairs and keep us updated....

I guess paypal won't be of any help. I got this message less than 2 minutes after I escalated the dispute to a claim. I am sure they must of spent a ton of time investigating.

That really doesnt surprise me, Paypal is worthless unless its a simple "I didnt get my stuff" type claim.....and even then if the seller gives them a tracking number, despite the fact when you type it in no information pops up, you still get hosed.....happened to me 3 times. The number even said the item had not been received for shipping one time....they still hosed me.
I think you plain got took.....

In my experience China wheelers dont come with titles per say, they come with MCO, manufacturer certificate of origin....or something like that. Atleast that what my China wheelers came with. That can be used at my county courthouse to get a title. Did you get any type of certificate?

I don't have anything nut an owners manual and a spare fuse. I was told by Jim at Tank-Sports that the titles are sent out 2 weeks after purchase date and are not shipped with the atv. Then again the title must be with my replacement parts somewhere in their make believe world over in Tank land

This clearly didnt go as planned at any point.

That's my next step. My brother just happens to be an attorney. I am going to talk to him this week and see what he thinks about the situation.

I pulled the atv apart today so I could start to hunt for the correct parts. I pulled the cheap chinese seal out of the rear end housing and it looks identical to the 00-06 big bear one just has no part numbers on it. I am also going to replace the o-ring while it is apart. The parts were fairly cheap as long as they are the same. Yamaha quoted me about $30 over the phone for the rubber boot, pinion seal and o-ring. I adjusted the clutch today also and it seems to grab better although I just took it for a short ride down the road before I decided to remove the rear swing arm. Here's some pictures of the mess
