Brain box/Hibird
#1
Hi, I am kinda new to this whole forum thing so please bare with me. I am looking for a brain box for a 2007 hibird QH-250STW. Where do I look? I've googled and googled and that's how I found this site, but am still at a loss about the box. It seems I can find sites that sell the atv, but none that give me parts answers. Please help.
..that's me scratching my "brain box"...lol...I'm guessing noone has any advice for me...it seems I've been viewed by a few people, but no responses...I really could use some help here! Please..

Jaster94's response is fantastic. Lots of good parts in those links.
Your term "brainbox" has me a little confused. I'm wondering what exactly you are referring to. There are no computers or "brains" on stock chinese quads. There is a CDI module [(C)apacitive (D)ischarge (I)gnition]. Is this what you are referring to?
If so, you need to find out if you have a CD or AC powered CDI.
I'm leaping forward here. Correct me if I'm wrong
. Why are you wanting to change the CDI?

The center of the ignition system is the CDI. It requires a power supply feeding it (which could be AC [from the stator] or DC [from the ignition switch]), and a trigger signal to tell it when to fire [from the stator].
The output from the CDI goes to the coil, and the output of the coil goes to the spark plug.
On most quads the CDI is enabled, or disabled, via the kill switch input pin. Most "no spark" issues have to do with kill switches, or kill switch wiring. Hence my question about why you are changing the CDI now.
The power supply to the CDI can be measured with a meter (whether it is AC or DC). The trigger input to the CDI can be measured with a meter. The kill switches and wiring can be measured with a meter. Some aspects of the CDI output can be measured with a meter. Some coil parameters can me measured as well.
Measuring the above items is where I'd start. Just changing the CDI is another approach. It might work (and hurrah! if it does), but the odds are against you.
So is you CDI AC or DC powered? Check this thread out and see if your CDI is the same, and then how to tell between DC and AC CDI's:

This is just a start of course, but the results of each test tell us where to go next.
