I seem to have dropped the ball on this thread. Somehow it faded out of my view until Ram50 brought it back into view.

In all the pics I didn't see a CDI.

This quad is a four stroke right?

It look like the two wire ignition switch is hacked in. The mystery four pin connector may be the connector for the original ignition switch which would have four wires on it. As Ram50 asked already, does this connector have two black wires on it? Or is it one black wire, and one black wire with a white stripe? If one of the 'black' wires has a white stripe then that would almost certainly the ignition switch connector.

On most chinese quads the ignition switch is actually two switches ganged together on a common shaft. One switch connects the battery power to the start interlock system (and other 12 volt stuff) when the ignition is turned *on*, the other switch shorts the kill switch wiring to ground (killing spark) when the switch is turned *off*.

Red = 12 volt battery power from fuse
Black = switched 12 volt power
Green = ground
Black/white strip = Kill Switch wiring
