Default Kazuma Jaguar 500 cutting out.

I just purchased a new Kazuma Jaguar 500. This thing cuts out at times & this would happen whether its just standing there idling & while I'm driving it. What could I check for? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Jakkals500!

Id start by replacing the stock spark plug with a NGK..

If that doesnt fix it, Id clean the carb and install a fuel filter.

Good day all. I recently had problems with my Jagguar cutting out at times. I've fixed the breating problem on the fuel cap. I've changed the chinese spark plug to NGK. Still the problem emitted. After doing more test, I found the the CDI unit being faulty. My quad runs very well now. Just thought I'd share this info with you guys.
Have a splended day further!!

But when moving it's ok now that i cut gas cap gasket. i got the crap out of the tank, changed fuel filter, new gas lines, changed the on off valve, and cut gasket on locking gas cap. looks to me after a while of sitting just stops dumping fuel weather cap is on or not.not too shur what to do next ..i paid 1600.00 it has 50 miles on atv looks new could sell it but think i got a good deal and it hard to find deals these days..what is the CDI unit and what does it do? I know nothing about 500cc engines. I probably cannot help you there, but some more info may help others to help you. When it dies, does it start right back up, or do you have to wait a while? If you have to wait how long? If it is difficult to start back up, does it do better with the throttle wide open, or closed?

CDI is an acronym that stands for "Capacitive Discharge Ignition". Basically it is a device that ignites the fuel air mixture by providing a moderatley high voltage "spike" to the ignition coil, that steps it up to a *really* high voltage that leaps across the spark plug gap and ignites the fuel/aor mixture inside the cylinder. Obviously this spike of energy has to be precisely timed when the piston is just before top dead center on the compression stroke.

To do this job the CDI needs the following:

1) A timing/trigger pulse from the engine that tells the CDI the engine crankshaft position.

2) A power supply of some sort - which can be moderately high voltage AC, or DC running off battery voltage.

3) An output to to the ignition coil to the ignition coil that provides the very sharp energy pulse needed to ignite the fuel at the sprk plug.

4) Some method of modifying the timing trigger pulse from the engine to allow timing advance for higher engine speeds.

The CDI has a lot of stuff inside. It's complicated and all very necessary. I can talk about this in detail if you want, but most people aren't interested in this much detail.

After installing a new CDI, a new coil, changing the spark 2 or 3 the time, cleaning the gas tank and the carburator, my ATV still cut at around 30 m/h. Could it be my new CDI box?

try the stator I had a similar problem with mine as well I replaced mine with kodiak parts but u might want to stick to the parts for this atv as I am more advanced with wiring and the technical difficulties of the swap
