Kuzuma Falcon 150cc Gearbox
#1
Bought this 150cc kuzuma with a busted gearbox. Now trying to remove it I'm unable to find any diagrams so it just winging it at this point.
I found a replacement box for $199 online. Is that the best price I'm likely to find? In fact it's the only price I'm able to find to replace this gearbox.
It was dry and maybe the previous owner ran it dry and loss the gear. The damage was from one or two teeth breaking off and the chips got into the rest of the gearing "dinging" the other gears so I figure to just replace the whole thing.
Initially I was unable to break loose the nut located in the photo at the 5 O'clock position. I will have to put a breaker bar to my ratchet I think. There is another thread that looks like it comes from the other side. My question is do I have to remove the cover from the other side belt drive to access this threaded screw. At this point it appears that there are only two remaining bolts holding this thing on. Any help or advice appreciated.
You can see that when this thing let go it cracked off the case from about 12 o'clock to 4 o'clock position. All that part of the case was missing when I bought this.

Yes you will have to remove the belt cover to remove everything from that side..

Thanks for the reply. It also looks like that box serves as the rear engine mount. A lot more work in changing that gearbox than at first meets the eye. Well you live and learn.
Not the least of which is the cost of the gearbox. $199. May as well just pull the engine to do the work sitting at the bench.
I've never fooled with any of these little engines so another question before I break something. I removed all the bolts I could see on the CVT cover. That's 8 (eight) bolts. The cover seems to still be firmly attached. I know things like this sometimes need a good pop to break the seal and get loose but this seems to still be held by something. I don't want to force it too much or I will be buying another cover. Is there any double/secret fasteners on that cover I haven't found? Or should I just give it a good whack to break it free? Sorry for the questions but I don't want to break something out of ignorance.

the last one i tore apart, Eton yukon 150cc, had the bolts as you stated but also had dowel pins to help hold the cover on there. yeah, i proceeded with caution with small screwdrivers prying it. nearest dealer is 200 miles away or wait for online parts delivery. i proceed with caution, a lot of lighting so as to see clearly, and when i can, pull the engine/transmission to a bench so i can accomplish all. BUT, when pulling the whole thing as you stated you'd like to do, LABEL ALL WIRING CONNECTORS and take pictures. that'll help on reinstallation.......
. good luck....

I just popped it one good time with a rubber hammer and it freed up. Yea, noticed the dowels. Makes it secure.
Since I got it off thinking lighter rollers and stiffer spring. I'm going to get rid of that automatic choke and put on at least a 27mm carb with a stack if I can find an intake I like to go with it. Maybe this little kit will work the price is right anyway.

Yep it came right off. Now getting the clutch off is another matter. May as well not even try unless you have a decent air gun. Had to break out the big one to get that nut loose.
