150cc Baja Motorsport with no compression
#1
First off I unfortunately do not know what year it is, but what I do know when I got this thing it had like 5 pounds of compression so I decided to rebuild the head, it has a 62mm in diameter piston. I got the new bottom half of the head and pistion kit installed it, as far as i know it is correctly installed. I am uncertain on the valve adjustments I did however loosen the rocker arms so I am certain they have clearance. Went to check compression.... and had none. After observing the valve timing, to me it looks wrong. What i am wondering is how to correct what is wrong with the timing?
Also this is not a GY6 it is a CG150

did you line up the marks/notches on crank for TDC?
10th digit on VIN is the year model.
VIN located on left underside of frame, on vertical downtube of handlebars down the bottom of quad, or on metal ID tag on grab handles either front or back.

Hi all, this is Topsykids dad. The quad in question is for me to ride.
A little more info might help so here goes. We got this quad "as is" with no compression. It had been run with no aircleaner so I checked and lapped the valves and then we changed the piston, rings, cylinder and gaskets. Still no compression.
The cam timing looks way off. The intake valve is still closing while the piston is past tdc and on its way down . Same fore the exhaust. The one thing I noticed is the intake rocker has seized on its shaft. It actually broke the weld so now the whole shaft/bolt rocks . It still "works" this way. I know the valves are closing all the way. Not good. I will change it but I want to make sure I can get it to run first.
The only thing I can think of is when that rocker seized it forced the cam into a retarded position. Is that possible? If so I have no clue how to get to the cam. Have been trying to find a service manual online with no luck so far. Only found them for the ohc 150 so far.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Finally found a service manual online for the older Honda 125. It looks like the same animal. As far as I can tell I should be able to get to the cam if I remove the generator. Looks like I may need a puller. Anybody here ever done this?

I have not BUT, on one side there should be wires coming out. Take this cover off. Be careful with the stator part that has coils of wire(a part of the generator). Get a flywheel puller preferably, and pull the flywheel off. Now, I don't what happens from there, but thats how to take off the flywheel I guess
. Also, you might need to take the starter chain off. I've never worked on you model quad, just my 2 cents

It looks like a puller for a Honda 125 - several years - will work. I hope
A local shop mentioned the flywheel bolt being reverse thread. Anyone know for sure? This might be really good to know before I start hammering on it with an impact.. Also not 100 % sure on which puller. Any ideas?
Ready to order one if I can get it right.
