Coolster 150 weak starter
#1
We have a Coolster 150 that we replaced the starter 3 times so far. When we try starting it you can hear the solenoid click but the starter won't or on occasion turn the motor over slowly. The only way my son can start it is using the starter button and at the dame time kick start it. Anyone have any ideas on if we can get a heavier duty starter or any other ideas> Thanks

we need you to take an ohm meter/voltmeter and see what your voltage is at the starter when you crank it. it sounds like your quad has a chronic issue with undervoltage through that circuit and eventually burning up the starter.

Yeah, Jaster94 is right on. Measure the voltage on the starter motor while it is cranking (or attemping to crank). Red lead goes right on the input post to the starter motor, black lead goes on the starter motor metal case.
Then do the same measurement right on the battery terminals (while the starter is cranking, or attempting to crank. By "right on the battery terminals" I mean exactly that - not (for example) the lugs that connect to the battery terminals. Red lead on the positive battery post, black lead on the negative battery post.
I'm suspecting bad connections in your starter motor current path - and measuring directly at the precise source eliminates some possible gotcha's...
