Default What Size /Type of Engine do I have

Hi There,
I have just purchased a 2nd hand Chinese ATV and I can find nothing at all about the engine size or what kind of knock off it is. I have got it running but need to replace some broken bits and pieces. Does anyone have an idea what this is?
I can’t see any identifying names or numbers on the frame or the engine.
Thanks in advance
David

I found a little sticker just above the drive sprocket but google didn't help that much once I rubbed the dirt off
The numbers are.
02AB-0051 2693
171FMNXZ192412
Off to the right a bit there is also the numbers 2412

I'll keep searching, Maybe there are some stamped in numbers somewhere.

Right, a 171FM engine is a circa 250cc Chinese engine type which, I suspect, is a water cooled version of a Honda 250. That one is unusual in having fake fins and the ribbed engine covers, Zongshien and Shineray versions have smoother castings. If you can find the VIN number it may give the makers code.

Hi MerryMan,
That is great info. It is water cooled and it has an electric fan that cuts in after a few minutes. I wasn't expecting the fan to actually work
They guy I bought if from had no idea of the engine capacity. That is larger than I was expecting. I would have guessed about 125 but that would be just a guess. It has more "go" than I was expecting and sounds like more than a 125.
I'll have a closer look for a VIN number. Is that likely to be on the frame or the engine?
Thanks
David

I found a number on the frame if this provides any more clues.
its on the back right near the tail light.
I can make out VHMATV25 - - - 2 6
Every thing else is starting to look like a 6

Anyone know anything about how to decode this number?
