Default Sllloooowww Prarie

Hello all. My buddy just picked his 01 Prarie up from the dealer to get an aftermarket exhaust and get it re-jeted. They installed an excellerator muffeler and head pipe. About 3 weeks ago we installed a green primary and a black secondary-or vise versa (cant remember- black spring big spring). and a K&N filter. It ran pretty good till he got it back from the shop. Now it only will reach 55! I told him that this was the place to get some good info. Thanks for any help.

Probably needs to be re-jetted properly.

You can take a sparkplug off after a ride and look at it. If it is whitish than it is running lean, if the sparkplug is very dark than it's running rich. But, I think it is running lean because of the new K&N filter and exhaust.

whitedog, not trying to be a d!ck. If its a 650 than its not earlier than a 2002. For some reason alot of people think they were a 2001 model, but earliest is 2002.

Ask the shop if they rejetted it. If they didn't, it's now too lean. If they did rejet but used a Dyno Jet kit, It may not run right anyways. Purchase one size up from stock Keihin mains and try them. (Stock jets are 138-142, front and back cylinders, buy a 145 for the back and move the 142 to the front.)
