Default clutch kit

i have just got a pair of clutch srings from my friend who just took them off his 400 scrambler and i put them on my 500 scrambler. the spring on the first clutch is a aaens red clutch spring that revs up 800 more rpm before it grabs and the secondary is a aaens blue witch is there medium spring. these are both from aaen performance. everything seems to work great but i have been told my transmision is now a bomb waiting to happen. is this true?????? i just got the springs thats it, my whole entire quad is stock.

sounds like you have some buddies tryin to freak you out.

go ahead and try the springs(make sure you have a manual when you install them!)

just dont install them both at the same time! just do one at a time! that way you can tell what each spring has to offer, as far as performance goes.

yes its fine.

but like i said, just do one at a time. go ride after each installation. this way you can see what each spring does. ]

The Aaen blue secondary spring is a good improvment if you set it at 2-2.But the red primary spring will be too much for your 500 you will loose alot of your bottomend .Try it and if you dont like it change to a polaris white or green. But it wont hurt your tranny. It will be a good time to check you ramp buttons in the rear clytch and the slide buttons in the front clutch.

I HAVE BEEN TOLD A NEW RUMOR!!! ever since i got the cluch kit in this is what i was told. i dont think this is true but i went to a place where i get my parts and i talked to a gut there who told me that i could break a whole bunch of stuff in my transmision from the jolt of it grabing when i get on out of corners and stuff when i trail ride it (considering thats all i do) and i could also hurt the motor from exesive rpm's. i really didnt believe them because when i got these clutch parts from a friend his scrambler had almost close to 70 hp. if anybody can get back to me that would be great.

You can do damge to the engine if the spring rate gets you more rpms than your motor needs.I run a yellow polaris spring and my top rpm is 6800 a little more than I like but I dont run wot much.If I were you I would try one of the primary springs I mentioned earlier.

just remember this:

adding high performance parts, to the motor, tranny, or clutching, will add stress, heat, and wear, to all parts, at any given time. such is the way of things with any and all machinery.

this is just the nature of things when we add performance parts and expect performance from our machines.

but, we gotta do what we gotta do!!!
