help on sportsmen clutch

Default help on sportsmen clutch

if I change the primary spring on the clutch on a 05 700 can I get it to engage harderor better then stock. I do not want to do a clutch kit but I am looking for a little better performance.

Yea try a Polaris white spring.

will that make the clutch grab harder for better off the line?

Yes what it will do is raise your rpms up alittle before the belt engauges. Something like a stall in a race car.

The Pink EPI spring has said to have nice improvments

what do you guys all think, how much does that raise the rpm engagement... i think i might give that spring a shot, does it need any weights?

From what I have heard the pink epi spring does not raise the engaugment rpm but does raise the rpms on top end.

Whats envolved in putting the spring in? Is it a no brainer or is there things that could g3et messed up.

Its pretty simple all you do is take the belt cover off pull the 6 small bolts out of the primary and then the 1 big one in the center. Pull the cover off the primary and replace the spring and then install everything back.

The pink will engauge about the same as the stock Blue/Green spring but will have higher rpms on topend. The pink has a higher shift rate of 160 pounds compared to the blue/Green of 115 pounds.
