07 Sportsman rear brakes
#1
I was looking at the Stealth at the dealer today and noticed there are disk brakes on all wheels except the left rear. Why doesn't the left rear get a brake caliper? Is this how Polaris has been designing the brakes? How are Polaris brakes compared to the competitors?

there is only one brake for the rear. it used to be off from the tire and it has always worked pretty good. i think the bombie has a single disk on the rear drive as well. i always sem to stop or lock up the wheels if i had too. the foot brake is kind of usless but ive found if i press hard enough i can lock and slide if i want.

The new Grizz 700 is the only quad that has disk on all 4 wheels that I can remember. Most have the 2 fronts while one will stop the back. I can't think of any atv with 4 sets of brakes, other then the 07 Grizz 700.

Polaris was the 1st to have 4 wheel disc brakes on the 2004 ATP and also on the Sportsman X2 models. They have the dual rear discs because of the versa trac rear end.
Why does the 700 grizz have it?

I always thought that only one disc was needed because both rear axles are locked.
