2001 sportsman 90 no spark one buddy said it mite be the cdi box or the stator how do i find out'

 

Pull plastic cover on right side,check for mud/dirt around flywheel.if dirty,pull flywheel,clean Inside and clean stator,check again for spark. Also before doing this,check safety switch by bypassing and tying wires together then check for spark. If both items doesnt help then stator possibly shorted out. Have replaced several! Kids think they are submarines sometimes. Good luck
